A organização FairMail, criada em 2006 pelo casal holandês Janneke e Peter, funciona com sede em Amsterdã e tem sua atuação em cidades da Índia e do Peru. Seu propósito é dar a alguns jovens adolescentes que vivem em situação precária nestas cidades a oportunidade de conquistarem uma vida melhor, podendo ter acesso ao ensino superior e ajudar às suas famílias. Com o apoio de voluntários locais e estrangeiros, a organização provê o ensino de fotografia para esses adolescentes, com aulas semanais e a produção de artigos como postais e calendários. 50% do lucro conseguido com a venda destes materiais é direcionado diretamente para fundos específicos de alimentação, saúde e educação de cada adolescente, de maneira que eles próprios são os responsáveis pela melhoria de suas vidas.
No Peru, o Fairmail funciona na cidade de Trujillo, a segunda maior do país, atendendo a adolescentes dos subúrbios da cidade. Como voluntário na área de design gráfico, participei da elaboração do calendário de 2012 e da série de cartões postais específicos para o mercado local de Trujillo, além de dar aulas semanais sobre edição de imagem para os integrantes do programa. Todos as peças foram feitas com fotos tiradas e editadas pelos próprios adolescentes nas aulas que tiveram com os outros voluntários.

Fairmail is an organization created in 2006 by the Dutch couple Jannekke and Peter help underprivileged teenagers from Peru and India. With the help of local and international volunteers, FairMail provides weekly photography lessons to the teenagers and finances the production of products like calendars and postcards with their photographs. 50% of the profit of these products sales is directed to the specific funds for food, health and education that each teenager has, so that they are the ones responsible for making their lives better with their own photography work.
The Peruvian branch of FairMail is located in Trujillo, the second largest city in the country, and helps teenagers that live in poverty or in danger in the outskirts of the town. As a volunteer in graphic design at this branch, I created the design for the 2012 Calendar and for the new postcard series that the organization was intending to launch in local market of Trujillo, as well as taught photo editing skills to the program's teenagers. All the materials presented were created with the photos taken and edited by the participants in the photography classes that they had with other volunteers.
