cartaz interativo sobre a história da capoeira e da abolição da escravatura no brasil
Este projeto teve como objetivo a criação de uma interface para comunicar com os mortos e/ou com o passado, inspirada pelo termo "hantologie", cunhado por Jacques Derrida no livro "Spectres de Marx". O termo é um neologismo de sonoridade semelhante à palavra "ontologia" e diz respeito a algo ao mesmo tempo visível e invisível, presente e ausente, algo que existe no mundo como uma memória do passado que assombra o agora.
A Capoeira é uma manifestação cultural nascida no Brasil a partir de pessoas trazidas à força da África para trabalharem como escravos do Império Português. Ela é, ao mesmo tempo, dança e luta, arte marcial e expressão cultural. Na época da escravatura, os negros treinavam Capoeira como forma de defesa contra os portugueses. Os escravos disfarçavam os aspectos de luta da Capoeira através da inclusão de música e de movimentos floreados, fazendo com que ela fosse percebida pelos portugueses apenas como uma dança e, desta forma, inofensiva. Após a abolição da escravidão em 1888, a Capoeira e outras manifestações culturais afro-brasileiras foram proibidas por lei, o que fez com que os capoeiristas adotassem nomes falsos, apelidos e outros códigos para conseguirem escapar da investigação policial.
A forma do cartaz é inspirado no conceito de que uma mesma pessoa ou uma mesma ideia é percebida de maneira distinta dependendo do contexto, do pano de fundo, em que ela é vista. No contexto do português branco, Capoeira é dança, e a opressão é soberana. No contexto do africano negro, Capoeira é luta, resistência, liberdade. Fora desta dualidade branco-preto, e com a distância da história, uma terceira realidade é criada, uma que é ao mesmo tempo a soma das duas anteriores e também algo mais complexo.

This project had the goal of creating an interface to communicate with the dead and/or the past, inspired by the term "hauntology", coined by Jacques Derrida in the book "Spectres de Marx". The term has a similar sound to "ontology" and relates to something that is at the same time visible and invisible, present and absent, something that exists in the world as a memory of the past that haunts the now.
Capoeira is a kind of cultural manifestation created in Brazil by the people brought from Africa to work as slaves of the Portuguese Empire. It is, at the same time, fight and dance, martial art and cultural expression. In the times of slavery in Brazil, black people trained Capoeira as a way of learning to defend themselves against the Portuguese. The slaves disguised the fighting aspects of Capoeira by including music and flourished movements, making it be perceived by the Portuguese as only a dance and, like such, harmless. After slavery ended in the country in 1888, Capoeira and other afro-Brazilian cultural manifestations were forbidden by law, which made the capoeiristas take on fake names, nicknames and other codes to escape from police investigation.
The form of the poster is inspired in the concept that the same person or the same idea can be perceived differently depending on the context, on the backdrop, in which it is seen. For the Portuguese white context, Capoeira is a dance, and the oppression is constant. For the African black context, Capoeira is a fight, it is resistance and freedom. Outside of that white-black duality, and with the distance of history, a third reality is made, one that is at the same time the sum of the two contexts and something more complex.
